Robert D. Putnam’s work on the decline of social capital crystallized for me the importance of building communities through volunteerism and personal relationships. Through my work at Epilepsy Peel Region I hope to contribute in building a strong and caring community.
My most recent venture is GAGA Marketing Group, a consultancy focused on providing support to small and medium sized business as well as professional printing services. Prior to GAGA I spent most of my career in the Financial Services Industry. I have also spent some time in the Hospitality Sector, Telecommunications and Consumer Electronics to name a few. Heather Marsh - Board Secretary & Treasurer
Community Living Supports Manager
I am a registered social service worker, currently employed by Brampton Caledon Community Living and occupy the role of one of the Community Living Supports Manager. I coordinate the support for and ensure that adults with an intellectual disability have the same opportunities for community involvement as those not labelled with a disability. I have been involved in the social services field for the past 20 + years and have worked within a variety of sectors. I have been supporting adults labelled with a seizure disorder throughout my career and know the lack of services in the Region of Peel has to change. Public education and support to those with and affected by a seizure diagnosis is key to community inclusion. I have two daughters, a 23 year old university student and a 12 year old middle school student. I have past board experiences with Brampton Block Parent, was a co-founding board member with the Dryden and District Aids Committe and briefly sat on the Board of Directors for Neighbors in Toronto. I am excited to be working with the Board of Directors for Epilepsy Peel Region.
